Great sites for download junkies like me!

Finally! I've discovered a really really good site that actually convinced me to jailbreak my iTouch once again. Yes, for the second time. I did it before, but at that time my firmware was still 1.1.5 and after I updated my firmware to 2.2.1 (the one that I paid 10 bucks for) I decided to not jailbreak my iTouch cause it is troublesome to do so! There are a lot of steps to follow and you need a wireless lan connection for it to work and so on, that the thought of it just demotivate me to jailbreak my iTouch again. But, after encountering this great site, I couldn't wait to jailbreak my iTouch and get the latest games and apps for free. Yes indeed, it's exactly like the itunes store only better, cause everything in it are free! Games, apps, ebooks, you name it they have it. Though some of the files are deleted due to copyright violations, they still have other great games and apps so I advice strongly to those of you who jailbreak your iPhone/iTouch to the latest firmware to visit the site I mentioned. go here! I promise, you won't be disappointed as I have downloaded a bunch of games and my boyfriend is happily playing it at this very moment!

To-do list for 2009.

My to-do list for this year would be;

1. get really really good results for my final exams. All subjects!
   
2. try to be more spontaneous and more adventurous in all expects of my life.
3. prepare self for the compulsory practical attachment during summer. Would not want to be look upon as an idiot by our local doctors/physicians.
   
4. Save up for dus baby's birthday
5. Save up for next year's winter trip. (the States? Italy? Spain?)

Update, hope and a little rant on technology..

For this coming summer holidays, my friend and I are organizing our very own first class reunion! I'm excited about it as it has been ages since I last saw my ex high school mates. We are planning to make it a lunch or a dinner gathering at one of the buffet restaurant. I'm sure it will be a great one as we have a lot of stories to share and a lot of reminiscing on our school lives that we've endured together. So, I am really looking forward to it.

Classes will start next week and I'm dreading to the idea of waking up early in the morning and coming back later in the evening every day! Not to forget the grueling night/midnight studying after dinner or a short nap. Next semester will be tough on us as we have 6 final exams to go through before going back for the summer. Those subjects are Pathology Anatomy, Pathology Physiology, Surgery, Internal Diseases, Pharmacology and last but not least, Russian Language. Well, I'm preparing myself mentally and physically for it now. I'm sure there will be less sleeping, maybe less eating, but hopefully it will be paid off with excellent results after everything has come to an end. I'm sure everything will be alright, with the help from God, prayers from my parents and with my angel beside me.

Oh, that's a little too personal huh. Alright, here is something more general. A few days ago, I've downloaded a few free applications from itunes store and I wanted to sync it with my iPod touch but I was unable to just because my firmware was not the latest version. The thing is, if you want to upgrade it to the latest firmware, you have to pay 10 bucks for the update. I think it is quit stupid for Apple to make us pay for such an important update after buying their product, moreover the update enables you to fully use the device and without it you are missing a lot of what it has to offer. I'm not making a lot of fuss about paying for the update but it was a little troublesome as I don't have a credit/debit card to make an online purchase. I almost ran out of patience and finally decided to used my brother's credit card to purchase it. Oh well, I hope in the near future Apple would not make it a habit to make us pay for such a crucial update.

Another thing that made me quite angry was about Symbian unsigned and signed applications. It is absolutely impossible to register for a symbian account because they do not accept public domain names as an e-mail address and you must have a valid e-mail address if you want to signed in for a symbian account. Since I just bought a new Nokia smartphone which runs Symbian softwares, it is quite handy if you have a symbian account for you to sign in some of the applications to use on your mobile phones. Or an error with "the certificate is expired!" will show up everytime you try to install an application on your mobile. Thank god I found a few useful websites/forums that offers unsigned applications for Symbian OS v9.2 and it can run well with my mobile. Technologies, it is indeed a hassle to live with and without it! Oh well, I'm a slave for technology (and so is my boyfriend) so we'll manage... somehow!

Nice and Monaco is a must to visit!

For my winter holidays, we (my boyfriend and I) head of to the city of love, Nice and their neighboring country Monaco. It was a good experience since this is the first time I've done traveling alone, without my parents. Plus, what made it more wonderful was being side by side with my boyfriend as we walk around, adventuring new places.

We ventured Paris without any tour guide, just with the help of an oversize map of the city and their metro/underground train. It was thrilling! We even got lost a few times in the metro during our first day! I must say, their metro is really well organized and it covers a lot of their main tourist spots. So it is really easy for tourists to go here and there. Unfortunately, the ticket was a bit pricey compared to the metro here in Moscow.

We spent 5 days and 6 nights in Paris. Visited their main tourist spots, i.e Notre Dame, Triumph Arch, Champs Elysee, a few other including Paris own Disneyland. Overall, it was good. Since we are used to city life, it was not really a big a deal for us. Plus, it was during winter, so rain or light showers were expected. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that they have sales during January til early February. So to those of you who follows fashion, IT IS A MUST TO visit Paris during this period. You can get designer handbags, clothes etc at a reasonable price. Some even offer 70% off! It is really a bargain!

Next, we head off to Nice, France to visit my very dear friend who is studying there. One word best to describe Nice is breathtaking. It was worth it. I was really happy to see the beach given that it was ages since I last saw or been to one. The sea was blue and the water was clear. It was sunny and nice, perfect for a stroll along the beach in the afternoon. We walked from one end to the other every day! It was really romantic. They have their own Champs Elysee too, only it is called Jean Medicin and instead of big designer brands such as Louis Vuitton, they have affordable stores such as Zara, and my personal fav, Bershka! Oh, and they have FNAC (it's where you find electronic stuffs) and Galeries Lafayette. My rating for Nice is 5 out of 5. If you are looking for a romantic gateway which is semi city or some what, Nice is the place for you.

We took a train to Monaco for a day trip a few days later. I've always wanted to visit Monaco. I've only seen it in the television during the F1 race where the circuit is called Monte Carlo and I must say, seeing it in real is awesome. It looks exactly like how they show it in the T.V, only better. It is indeed a place for the rich and famous! While we were there, we kept whispering to each other that one day, we will stay there. Monaco is beautiful and breath taking.

New blog, old name..

so, I've decided to delete my old blog and make a new one. The reason is, I wanted to display a more mature me. Having said that, explains why I choose a simple layout for my blog instead of the more elaborate ones I normally use for my previous blog. (I bid goodbye and would like to thank blogskins.com for those wondrous and beautiful layouts they had to offer)

Well, it's the same me, but do expect something more general like places I've visited, my personal recommendations on music genres or movies that I love or maybe personal advices on life, studies and love. Oh, and I will rant a bit here and there on my daily life as a medical student here in Moscow, so no worries.
